The Indiana State Excise Police say they were responsible for arresting nearly 370 people statewide over the past weekend due to alcohol and drug related crimes.

According to reports, excise cops arrested almost 255 people in Terre Haute alone during the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza – 105 of them for underage drinking. The rest received various charges from contributing to a minor, driving while intoxicated, possession of drugs, criminal recklessness and open containers.

In Bloomington and Muncie, excise police were responsible for arresting almost 120 people for similar offenses.

Now that most colleges are now in session, the Indiana Excise Police say they will be out in full force to ensure control of alcohol related offenses, including minor consumption.
