Looking for a movie experience like no other in Indiana? You might want to catch a flick at Indiana's largest movie screen that's over six stories tall!

One of my favorite things to do on my time off is to go see a movie at the theater. Anytime a big Hollywood blockbuster comes out, I always tend to see them in the IMAX theater here in Evansville, Indiana. Watching a movie in a theater like that is really special. In a way, it makes you feel like you are immersed in the world that you are watching on the big screen. You can't get that same feeling watching a movie from the comfort of your own couch. While the IMAX screen at my local theater is massive, it's still not the biggest movie screen in the state of Indiana. In fact, after doing a little research, I have found the biggest movie screen in Indiana, and I'm making it a point to someday see a movie there.

Where is the Biggest Movie Screen in Indiana?

We have a lot of movie theaters scattered all throughout the state, but none of them have a screen as big as the IMAX Theater is located in Indianapolis, inside the Indiana State Museum at White River State Park. This thing is MASSIVE! According to White River State Park:

The IMAX Theater inside the Indiana State Museum at White River State Park provides you with a larger-than-life escape, putting you in the middle of the action on Indiana’s largest movie screen (towering over six stories tall).

Now, that's a big movie screen! I never would have expected to find the largest movie screen in Indiana inside of a museum. When I saw that, I wondered if this theater only played documentaries for the museum or if they played big Hollywood blockbusters. As it turns out, they play both. As with any IMAX theater, they have movies in both 2D and 3D options too.

Of course, if you live in that area and have been to the IMAX Theater inside the Indiana State Museum at White River State Park, this is nothing special for you. However, folks like myself who have never been to that theater before would be like a kid in a candy store.
