Fido Walk Happens September 17th, Tickets To Win $500 On Sale Now

Once again this year, the Vanderburgh County Humane Society will hold the Fido Walk, Rock, and Run. The event will happen on September 17th starting at 5pm. Last year the walk and run moved to the evening hours, and added features like live music and a beer garden. Those elements return this year, along with the events that pets and pet-owners have grown to love. There are toys and activities for dogs, chances to get your picture taken with your pet, and cool wading pools to keep the pooches happy. My dog, Eva even painted her own masterpiece one year, that we now have hanging in our bathroom. If you don’t have a pet, you can still come and join in the walk or run. All the events benefit the VHS. One event you can get in on right now, is the 2K Fetch, in which you can purchase a tennis ball for $10, then on the day of the event, VHS pups will be let into a field to fetch a ball. The owner of first ball fetched, will win $500. You can buy your tennis ball now at the VHS on Morgan

Massive Tornado Destroys Area Near Oklahoma City; At Least 51 Killed [UPDATED]
An enormous tornado with a debris cloud two miles wide tore through the metropolitan area just south of Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon.
UPDATE 9:28 p.m. EST: At least 51 people were killed in the storm, including seven children from Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, according to KFOR in Oklahoma City. The news station reported that 75 student and staff were inside the school when the storm struck. Officials said Monday night that the search of the rubble remaining of the school had turned to a recovery mission.
