100 Years of Vintage Clothing

Come take a tour of one family’s clothing collection from 1870 to 1970. The presentation will feature women’s clothing that speak to the times and also show the care the family took of such splendid dresses, skirts, and aprons. In the Beardsley, Montgomery, and Gordon Collection many of the early items are handmade, including the detailed applique work. Some of the later dresses are from local as well as national designers. It will be a walk down the street in Evansville fashion. Jennifer Greene, Archives & Reference Librarian from USI will be presenting on this collection on Monday May 12, 2014 in the Browning Room at EVPL Central Branch at 6:30pm.
