Halloween is Here

It's officially October which means it is Halloween.  At least for me, the whole month is a celebration of my favorite spooky holiday.  Personally, my favorite decorations to look at are Halloween decorations.  I enjoy decorating for Halloween so much that we usually have our Halloween decorations up outside before our neighbors do.  Now as much as I wish my Halloween display was over the top and very impressive, it isn't there just yet, but I'm still pretty proud of my little display.  However, my ultimate goal is to one day have a display outside that is huge and fantastic enough to be featured on this map!

Evansville Halloween Lights and Haunts

On Facebook, there is a page called Evansville Christmas Lights and they map out some of the coolest light displays in the area.  After their map got really popular, they created the Evansville Halloween Lights and Haunts page, and do the same thing for Halloween!

Evansville Halloween Lights and Haunts have created a map of all of the best Halloween displays across the Evansville area.  And the map doesn't just cover Evansville, it also covers all the way to Henderson, Fort Branch, Boonville, Newburgh, and all over the place.  If you check out the map you'll see little jack o' lanterns and each represents a home haunt or light display, and there are also haunted houses marked on the map as well, like the Zombie Farm, and Olde Courthouse Catacombs.

Check out the map below, and if it isn't showing up, click here to see it.

If you want to see some of the coolest Halloween displays in the Evansville area, be sure to give the Evansville Halloween Lights and Haunts page a follow, and check it out as they feature many of the displays on their page as well! Happy haunting!

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
