Eli Young Band vs. JB and the Moonshine Band – The Showdown
Fans of Eli Young Band pulled off one of the greatest Showdown upsets of all time on Tuesday. The group’s new single ‘Say Goodnight’ topped Taylor Swift‘s brand new single from her upcoming ‘Red’ album, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.’ That makes it three in a row for the Texas foursome’s love ballad. Two more and it will be retired to the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame.
Today’s challenger is another Texas group with a dedicated following. JB and the Moonshine Band released ‘No Better Than This’ earlier this month, receiving strong reviews from critics and fans. It’s going to be a big fall and winter for the foursome, who play Billy Bob’s in Ft. Worth, Texas on Friday Aug. 17.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour. If a song wins five days in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
