Job Description

This is a part-time position for individuals seeking a career as a Caterpillar dealership service technician. Selested individuals are sponsored in a two-year associate degree technician training program at Illinois Central College. Students will alternate on 8-week intervals between attending classes on campus in East Peoria, IL and working in a Whayne Service Department Shop in paid internships. This alternating 8-week schedule will continue for two years culminating with a graduation from ICC with an Associates Degree and the potential opportunity to start full-time employment at an above entry level service technician position at Whayne Supply Company.

Tuition assistance is available based on grades earned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  •  Have met "College & Career Readiness" benchmark scores on a COMPASS or ACT test.
  •  Willingness to learn and be trained
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  •  Able to communicate with team members and customers
  •  Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
