Just in time for the Fall Festival which is right around the corner featuring deep fried twinkies and donut bank burgers, comes a new deep fried delight that would be a perfect fit on West Franklin during the first week of October. A deep-fried concoction of bubblegum and marshmallows won the prize for the most creative dish at the Texas State Fair on Monday.

Justin Martinez took home an award for bubblegum-flavored marshmallows which are injected with bubble gum extract then battered, deep-fried and decorated with icing.

If it sounds odd (and if it doesn’t, we need to talk) consider some of its competition in the fried food category: buffalo chicken in a flapjack and deep-fried salsa.
