Country Whuppin’ – Jason Sturgeon Vs. Darius Rucker

In the battle of the cover songs, the call-in votes went to Darius Rucker for ‘Wagon Wheel,’ but the online votes went to Jason Sturgeon.  All-in-all it proved too much for Darius, and Jason moves on in today’s Country Whuppin’ to face Easton Corbin and his new single.

Our hometown boy, Jason Sturgeon has been in Nashville a couple years and is looking for that big hit to put him on the map.  This cover of a 1989 hit for the Jeff Healy Band might just be the answer.  ‘Angel Eyes’ is a soulful song built for country music.  The question is, does it have what it takes to win this battle.  You vote and tell us.

Challenger – Easton Corbin “All Over The Road”

Easton Corbin is now on his second album and starting to come into his own as one of Country’s hot new stars.  He only needs one big single to give him his own identity.  His latest single sticks close to what has worked well for him i the past, but the question is, does it win today’s battle.  Vote now to decide.
