There has been a lot of confusion surrounding whether or not Lilly King is able to sign autographs at the Otters game this Friday evening, so here's what we know so far.

Lilly King will be at the Otters game and throwing out the first pitch this Friday.  Apparently someone jumped the gun a little bit in promoting that Lilly will be signing autographs. Apparently due to the IU compliance office, Lilly King is limited in the scope of her public appearances by NCAA rules. So then it was said that Lilly will not be able to sign autographs at the event.

Here's where it gets confusing!

The Courier and Press just posted this update:

According to IU compliance, it appears the NCAA does have "a small exception" to its rule that prevents student-athletes from signing autographs for an entity like the Otters.

However, the Otters weren't supposed to make that a focus of their news release announcing she will be throwing out the first pitch on Friday.

They were permitted to announce she will be at Bosse Field to be honored in her hometown, and part of that would include interacting with fans, which includes signing autographs. -Evansville Courier and Press

The wording of that statement has some a bit confused.  It seems that she will be able to sign autographs, but that isn't to be the main focus of the event.  I checked and the Otters haven't released a statement yet, but I'll update as soon as I get word!

Regardless this Friday at Bosse Field we should all be there welcoming our olympian home and showing Ms. King one heck of a tri-state welcome back!!
