In March 2019, Chloe Randolph was found dead in the Henderson apartment she shared with her husband, Mohamud Abdikadir, and their son, who was 9-months-old at the time. Police found her body in the closet with visible signs of head trauma, and "a deep cut to her neck." Her husband was arrested and charged with her murder. He confessed to the crime a few weeks later, and after several continuances and rescheduled court dates, pleaded guilty to that charge along with two charges of tampering with evidence back in September 2021. He is currently in prison serving a 20-year sentence.

Inspiration Born From Tragedy

Determined to not let Chloe become another statistic, her parents and close friends saw her tragic death as motivation to help others who find themselves in dangerous relationships. A major step in their journey took place in October 2020 with the opening of The Chloe Randolph Organization Advocacy Center in downtown Henderson.

Like any organization, it takes money, and a lot of it, to carry out its mission. Money is collected through grants, as well as through fundraising events like the organization's annual golf scramble, and its new event, the "Ride a Hog, Save a Victim" motorcycle poker run happening this Saturday (September 23rd, 2023).

The ride will begin the organization's "road to Domestic Violence Awareness Month" which runs the entire month of October and will be entirely different from the group's poker run that took place in June. The ride will begin at the organization's new advocacy center located at 327 Washington Street in Henderson and will end at Firedome Pizza on Barrett Boulevard. Open registration starts at 8:30 AM with all bikes scheduled to roll out at 10:00. The event will also feature an entirely different course than the one used over the summer. The organization hasn't revealed the route yet and says it may remain a mystery according to the event's page on Facebook.

Registration is $20 for the first rider, $10 for an additional rider, and $5 for an extra poker hand, and is not limited to just motorcycles. Jeep clubs and car clubs are invited to participate as well.

For information on the ride, visit the Chloe Randolph Organization Facebook page.
