By now, you are well aware of the controversy surrounding Chick-Fil-A created by company president Dan Cathy and his stance on same-sex marriage. There has also been some flap about the food chain's documented financial backing of anti-gay Christian organizations as well.

Yesterday, Chick-Fil-A supporters organized a nation-wide 'eat-in' in support of the company - it was one of the biggest revenue days for the company ever, yet, things took a very different tone yesterday at a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru in Arizona.

Adam Smith, CFO of Vante, Inc., a Tucson, Arizona based medical device manufacturer decided he would go to Chick-Fil-A and order a water, then give the window clerk his opinion about her company. Smith made a video of the exchange, put it on YouTube, and of course, it went viral. Smith bullies the employee about the hateful company she works for and basically rips her a new one.

The video is unbelievable and the way he treats the poor girl at the window crosses an entirely new set of lines. By the way, Smith was fired by his job once his company was made aware of the video.

Regardless of what you believe, there is a line that just cannot be crossed. Passion is great, as long as that passion is directed correctly. That is why it is so tough to start any kind of constructive dialogue about issues like this, because some people just cannot agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Everyone is entitled to his or her own beliefs on any given issue, and Cathy probably should have just kept his mouth shut and run his chicken empire without complicating anything. Cathy certainly has the right to his opinion, but he has put his franchisees in a very difficult position, which has opened them up to the kind of abuse demonstrated in the below video.

If we could just learn to respect each other's differences instead of fearing them, the world would be a much happier place.

Mr. Smith, while you are entitled to your opinion, you do not have the right to bully, harass and insult an innocent bystander. In my opinion sir, you are a complete tool and deserved to be fired.
