March 5, 2013 Sadly, on Friday, actress Bonnie Franklin passed away after her battle with pancreatic cancer - she was 69. Bonnie is probably best remembered for playing 'Ann Romano' on the CBS sitcom 'One Day at a Time.' The show was a huge part of my childhood. My mom, like Ann, had red hair, I wanted to look just like Valerie Bertinelli and the story took place in Indiana. It was also my first glimpse of a woman who was divorced. (I know...crazy, but true) Little did I know, that someday, I would be just like her.

March 1, 2013 I pride myself on the kind hearts of my children. While raising them, I ALWAYS tried to instill a sense of empathy toward others. I am happy to say they are all very giving and nonjudgmental individuals. I really want them to have a 'What would Jesus do?' mentality. In our world today, it's hard to teach that kind of love. But, that's not going to stop me. And, it shouldn't stop you either.
When I saw this video, I was outraged!! And YOU will be too. But, after we clench our fists in anger, grit our teeth and shake our head, we must stand back and remember to teach love.

February 8, 2013 We had a deliciously, GREAT time this morning judging a dessert contest with the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Indiana. Director of Communications Stacey Godbold came into the studio barring three, Girl Scout cookie inspired, incredible desserts. It was all a part of promoting 'National Girl Scouts Day.' Along with visiting several radio stations, Stacey has also planned a... (well we aren't supposed to say FLASH MOB, but it is..lol) spontaneous group dance for tonight at Eastland Mall at 6:30 in front of Yankee Candle.

February 8, 2013 TONIGHT is a BIG night!! Alan Jackson is coming to town!!!!! He will be at the Ford Center tonight with Gloriana and Greg Bates. A couple of days ago, Gloriana posted a video of a behind-the-scenes look at their rehearsals for the show tonight. It's pretty cool to see how excited they are and how hard they work.
February 5, 2013 On the show this morning, I told you it's 'National Weatherman's Day.' The first thing that came to my mind was my buddy Wayne Hart over at Eyewitness News. I remembered a video I had seen of some promos he made in Louisville while working at WLKY.
You know, we give weathermen a lot of grief, so on this special day, I decided to give Wayne a little more grief - I posted a video of a blooper too!!!
January 29, 2013 Because of a recent surge in gun violence, we are being - wait a minute - is it a recent surge? Or have we been dealing with mass shootings and killings since the gun was invented? Why is it that we are so scared now and gun sales are going though the roof? Why do individuals continue to go into public places and start shooting? Why are innocent people, including our children, being gunned down in an instant? I believe WE are to blame.
January 28, 2013 I have always tried to live life with a positive outlook. But I'm not going to lie - right now, I am having a very hard time doing that. It's like I just can't find the awesomeness inside me any more. I am questioning my choices and my worth almost daily. Sometimes though, just when you need it the most, the good Lord shows you the light inside yourself. Today, I saw it in the eyes of a child and heard it in his voice. Hopefully you will too. :-)
