As you know, when speaking of Christmas, or anything joyous, well except for South Carolina and Jake Gyllenhall, Jon is all HUMBUG! In fact, his nickname around the studio IS 'Scrooge.' Remember how many times I have asked for a raise? LOL!
On the show this morning, our 5th Day of Christmas artist was Scotty McCreery. Jon said that he recorded the 5th day right at the family dinner table. In Scotty's video for "Christmas Comin Round Again,' he shows us pictures of his childhood with his family. So cute.
Don't be alarmed! I know what you're thinking. And NO, this sippy cup has nothing to do with kids - just adults who are prone to spills! ;-)
When we put up our Christmas tree this year, we realized this would be Emmy, or cat's, first Christmas. As each decoration was going up, she had to thoroughly inspect each one. Now, compared to the White House, our house is pretty small. Imagine the many decorations Bo, the Obama family pet, has to check out. He must be exhausted and a little confused.
When I was a child, we got out the paper and crayons and we wrote our letter to Santa. Days were spent, filing through the Sears Catalog toy section, (yes, sadly that was our only resource, lol) making sure everything we wanted was on the list. We would then go to the mall and hand deliver it to the big guy. But today, kids don't even have to leave the house. Santa is on their computer screen!

As you know, I adopted a beautiful dark chocolate brown cat from the VHS last Spring. Well, this is her first Christmas and she loves the tree. She also loves the candles candy and all my Christmas trinkets. So, I needed some pet safety tips and this is what I found.
For most schools, extra money is hard to come by. Funding for extra-curricular activities is almost nonexistent. Schools have to come up with creative ways to make money - and the Castle High School Marching Band has done just that. :-)

My weekend was CRAZY! It didn't feel like a holiday weekend at all. Where was my holiday or time to rest? Between my crazy schedule, family and the time change, I feel so BLAH! This getting dark at 4:30 in the afternoon is a killer. If you are like me and suffer from the winter blah's, I may have found a solution.
Over the last two and a half weeks we have been collecting Cans For The Community with Henderson Chevrolet Buick GMC. All donations have now been delivered to the Evansville Rescue Mission and the Henderson Christian Community Outreach.
The Evansville Holiday Parade is underway and we are excited to be a part of it! Last year the weather forced its cancellation, but this year, we hope for the best as the parade takes a new route into the area north of downtown.
