Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer Get Engaged
Brantley Gilbert celebrated his 28th birthday on Sunday (Jan. 20) by proposing marriage to his girlfriend, ‘Whiskey’ singer Jana Kramer. Kramer gave an enthusiastic “Yes!” meaning the two are now engaged.
“We could not be happier,” the country couple tells People. “We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together.”
No further information about when Kramer and Gilbert may get married was made available. The relationship, which only became public knowledge in September 2012, has been getting more serious in recent months. They moved into a Nashville home together in December. The ‘More Than Miles’ singer has also built a house in Georgia, and he told Taste of Country they spent time there over the holidays. People reports that they’ve been dating for nearly a year.
Gilbert’s proposal happened at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. He rented the historic venue for the day and asked the ‘One Tree Hill’ actress to be his partner forever. “I was so surprised,” Kramer said, adding that Gilbert asked her mother for permission.
This will be the first marriage for Gilbert and the second for 29-year-old Kramer. She was married to actor Johnathon Schaech for a short time in 2010.
