Blake Shelton’s ‘Based on a True Story’ album is five singles deep, but fans who haven’t picked it up yet are just now getting to hear the best track. ‘My Eyes’ is a sexy love song that heats the sheets to a melting point hotter than his previous two lovers.

The Voice’ contestant and frequent Shelton collaborator Gwen Sebastian joins Shelton on the song, providing more than just backing vocals. It’s not a true duet — Sebastian never takes lead — but their chemistry helps make the single bigger than one man’s randy ramblings.

Come a little closer, come a little closer / Come a little closer, girl the way you look tonight / My eyes are the only thing I don't wanna take off of you,” Shelton sings. That lyric alone should earn the song some award consideration. It may be over looked as fifth singles from a project often are.

Perhaps the verses rely on images too familiar to the country fan. It’s not the song of the year, but Shelton’s performance makes it a great single. He owns it:

Those high heels with that sun dress / Turquoise heart hangin 'round your neck / Red lips like wine, wanna drink 'em up / And keep on drinkin' 'til you make me drunk.”

Expect 'My Eyes' to be his 12th straight No. 1, the fifth straight from an album that deserves a CMA or ACM for Album of the Year before he moves on to another.

Why Fans Will Love It: 'My Eyes' may be Blake Shelton's sexiest song to date.

Key Lyrics: "Come a little closer, come a little closer / Come a little closer, girl the way you look tonight / My eyes are the only thing I don't wanna take off of you”

Did You Know?: Of all his team members from 'The Voice,' Shelton seems to spend the most time with Sebastian. The singer toured with him as a backup and feature singer, and has performed with him on two live country music awards, shows, including the 2014 ACM Awards.
