Eric Cornish

Eric has been a HUGE Country music fan since he was 11 years old.  Artists like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Billy Ray Cyrus, Tracy Lawrence, and Collin Raye were huge influences in bringing Eric into the Country fold. Eric has been in radio since 2003 after graduating from Western Kentucky University.  He worked in Bowling Green at WBVR for 2 years, before moving to WFGS (formerly WFGE) in Murray, KY and co-hosting the morning show for 3 years.  Eric came to WKDQ in 2008 and is happy driving the fine people of Tri-State home everyday! Eric married his beautiful wife, Lori in 2005.  They have a gorgeous daughter, LeAnn Ray that was born February 13th, 2011, and boy named Bradley Edward, born April 11th, 2012, plus a sweet dog, Eva (from the VHS!).  Something interesting about Eric is that he's never lived outside of the state of Kentucky...from Louisville, to Bowling Green, to Murray, and now in Henderson.  He loves UK and WKU basketball, and is a BIG Tennessee Titans fan. In his free time Eric enjoys to travel, especially to Disney World and the Smoky Mountains!  He loves to pick up a mic and belt one out at a local karaoke bar.  You can also often find him in a wrestling ring, getting booed as he announces for local stars and legends!

George Jones was laid to rest today, after a huge outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House.  I found myself glued to the TV watching the huge number of friends that spoke and sang about Jones.  One performance really captured the admiration of the country legend.

Eric’s Lost Hit – George Jones ‘High Tech Redneck’

It's been a while since I've introduced a lost hit, but now more than ever it felt like the right time.  While George Jones had the bulk of his success before the mid 80's, the early 90's brought about somewhat of a resurgance, with songs like 'I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair' and this one, where George plays off the huge success of Terminator 2 with 'High Tech Redneck!'
