Last year, there was a traveling toilet that would show up in Warrick County residents' yards. Now, it has returned. Here's everything you need to know.

The Boonville High School After Prom Committee has gotten very creative with how they plan to raise money for the After Prom Party. They want the students to have the best time ever that night, and in order to do that, they need to do some fundraising. So, last year they came up with a very fun and unique way to raise money that involves the residents of Warrick County getting in on the fun too. It was such a hit that they have decided to bring it back again this year.

The Prom Potty

The committee was inspired to raise money for After Prom after some of the kids saw a TikTok video about a traveling toilet. They all loved the idea and thought it would be a cool way to raise money, and possibly turn this into an annual Boonville High School tradition. It's called the Prom Potty, and you might have seen this traveling toilet all around Warrick County, including the Sherrif's Office last year.

How It Works

It's a pretty simple concept. This Prom Potty gets sent to someone's home or a business for a price, and it gets removed for a price as well. You can also take out "insurance" to make sure that it doesn't get put in your yard.  According to the Prom Potty form:

  • If the potty is in your yard, choose to have it removed.  $25
  • If you want to send the potty to a friend,  select delivery.  $25
  • If you have the potty and want to have it removed and passed on to a friend, select removal and delivery  $50
  • If you want to be a potty pooper, select insurance to safeguard your yard  $75

Of course, it should be noted that for the safety of the volunteers, you should only select recipients/locations that you know would be receptive to this fundraising approach. Don't just send it to your neighbor across the street that you don't like.

You can send the Prom Party anywhere within Warrick County.  The timing of removal and delivery will be dependent on the number of requests and the availability of our volunteers.  All proceeds will go directly to support the BHS After Prom festivities. You can learn more, and make your orders by clicking here. I love this idea, and I know just who I will send it to...

Oh, and remember...this toilet is not for actual usage. If you have to go to the potty, use the one inside your house, not outside!

30 Bizarre (and Real) Indiana High School Mascots

According to High School.com, there are 682 high schools in Indiana. 555 of those are public schools, while the remaining 127 are private. A majority of those schools have chosen typical mascots to represent them, like eagles, tigers, lions, jets, patriots, and so on and so forth. But, these 30 schools decided to go, well, a different direction.

KEEP READING: 40 Real Indiana Towns with Quirky, Weird, and Funny Names

Outside the major cities, the Hoosier state is full of tiny little towns you've probably passed through on your way to one of those cities. Most of them are likely 100 to 150 years old, or older, and have been around far longer than the large metropolitan areas such as Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville. Typically, they were started by early settlers who found their way to the state and decided to make it home. Eventually, others would join them, and a community was formed. Over time, as the surrounding areas grew, most of them were folded into those areas and governed by the nearest city or county's governing body officially making them "unincorporated," meaning they did not have their own formally organized municipal government.

A scroll through Wikipedia's long list of unincorporated communities in Indiana shows several of them have names that by today's standards would be considered weird, quirky, or just downright right funny. These are my 40 favorities.
