Here we go again: another Roberts Stadium issue. This time, the Evansville City Council has denied Mayor Winnecke's request to transfer proceeds from the Roberts Stadium auction to the demolition fund thus, delaying the demolition yet again. The time has come to resolve this issue one way or the other and leave partisan politics out of this.

This week Evansville Mayor, Lloyd Winnecke's task force looked over 600 different suggestions for the use of Roberts Stadium.  They are now in the process of taking the public input and helping the mayor decide the fate of the building and the grounds it occupies.  Now, from the home office in Nebo, KY...it's the Top 10 Rejected Ideas for Roberts Stadium!

The other day, I posted an article on wkdq.com about the the three public meetings to be held about what should be done with Roberts Stadium. The first meeting was held last night at the Centre and the turnout was very light, only about 40 showed up. The 40 that were there, did make the meeting very productive and some very good, well thought out ideas were presented.

Roberts Stadium is now officially moth-balled. The big question now is what to do with the dated facility which has been the subject of much debate for months, especially since the opening of the Ford Center.

On Sunday, we gave away two front row seats and a pair of meet and greets to one lucky tailgater. Here is what happened.... :-)
