In what appears to be another step toward a divorce between the City of Evansville and the IceMen, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke held a press conference on Thursday to announce (among other things) the City is exploring the option of bringing in another hockey team now that lease negotiations with the IceMen have reached an "impasse".

The big news of the week is that the Indiana State Supreme Court has overturned the Smokefree ordinance in Evansville. In a nutshell, they had an issue with the exemption that was extended to our riverboat casino.

UPDATE - January 9th at 4:15PM: More details are starting to trickle in (pun somewhat intended) about the issue at the Water Treatment Plant on Waterworks Road which has caused Mayor Winnecke's office to urge all residents served by the city water department to conserve usage for the next few days.
