Kentucky history

There's a lot of great history and lot of great food at Hall's on the River, established as a tavern more than 240 years ago.

Did you know women in Kentucky weren't legally allowed to bartend until 1972? Or even sit at a bar! Dixie Demuth decided to change that and this year, she was inducted into Kentucky's Bourbon Hall of Fame.

In the 1800s tuberculosis was known as the "white plague" and one doctor attempted to create a sanatorium inside of Mammoth Cave.

Like the other 49 states, Kentucky has its fair share of towns with odd names...most of them unincorporated.
