I have never understood the concept of losing an hour and then gaining it back in the next season. That's probably because I was not alive in 1918.

Experts with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine are in full support of adopting a year-round standard time. The video below shows data and answers questions about the health risks of gaining and losing an hour twice every year.

In the grand scheme of things, we really don't gain or lose an hour each year. The Farmers' Almanac shared an old-time joke about it.

Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.
