Applications Are Now Open for Mayor Terry’s Next Youth Council

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry is on the lookout for the next group of young people to help shape our city. Applications are officially open for anyone in grades 8 through 12 who is interesting being a part of the 2026–2027 Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC).

What is Mayor Terry's Youth Advisory Council

The Mayor's Youth Advisory Council is a collection of 20 students from across all five city wards who will spend 10 months working side-by-side with community leaders, tackling youth-focused projects, diving into service-learning work, and giving the Mayor direct insight into the issues that matter most to Evansville's younger generation.

How Youth Advisory Council Members Will Get Involved

Youth Council Members will meet monthly, with extra sessions thrown in when projects need a little more momentum. And because the city wants a council that truly reflects Evansville, finalists may be invited to an in-person interview to help round out a diverse, representative group.
