Evansville Announces 4th Annual Used Cooking Oil Recycling Day

The holidays are here, and with them comes delicious cooking and baking. But what happens to all those leftover fats, oils, and grease - also known as FOG? Don’t let it become a headache! Improper disposal of FOG can clog your home’s plumbing, wreak havoc on the city’s sewer system, and even harm the environment. Luckily, the Evansville Water & Sewer Utility (EWSU) has a simple solution!

4th Annual Used Cooking Oil Recycling Day

• When: Saturday, November 30, 2024
• Time: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Where: Sunrise Pump Station, 1200 Riverside Drive (see the picture below)

This free, family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity to recycle your used cooking oils safely and responsibly.

EWSU) is teaming up with American Grease and Septic and the City Engineer’s Office to accept residential cooking oil and grease. You can bring items like canola oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, and even meat drippings to the event. Petroleum-based oils, however, will not be accepted.

Drop off your grease at the designated station in the parking lot between Sunrise Pump Station and the new skatepark, conveniently located off Veterans Memorial Parkway near Shawnee Drive.
