Get Ready To Roll At The Owensboro Turkey Bowl This Thanksgiving!
If you're looking for something hilarious to do over Thanksgiving Weekend, the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department may have just come up with it. One of their more popular annual events is the public skate session that takes place on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Many local families in the area make that day, that particular session a Thanksgiving tradition.
Well, it's about to get even more fun and festive. This year, they're inviting you to come to the Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl!
Now, you may be wondering this. What in the heck is Turkey Bowling?
HOW DOES TURKEY BOWLING WORK?
Radio host Dave Fields, formerly with WKDQ in Henderson, did something similar a few years ago. He went turkey bowling inside a local southern Indiana grocery store. While he wasn't technically bowling on ice like folks will be at Edge Ice Center, he did use a frozen turkey. He just rolled it down a grocery store aisle and tried to knock down some bowling pins.

Looks like fun, doesn't it? Well, you can give it a whirl (or a Turkey Whirl) next week.
THE THANKSGIVING TURKEY BOWL AT EDGE ICE CENTER
Owensboro Parks and Recreation will host a public skate session on Wednesday, November 27th from 1pm to 3:30pm. Skaters are going to get the chance to go turkey bowling and they have the perfect Thanksgiving prize up for grabs. If you bowl a strike- using an actual frozen turkey as your bowling ball- you'll walk (or skate) away with a turkey for your family's holiday feast!
There's a limited supply of turkeys, so you should get there as early as possible. Good luck, you turkeys!
