Burdette Park’s Fright Night Returns With Haunted Rooms and ‘Stephen King’s IT’
Burdette Park
Happy 90th birthday to Burdette Park in Evansville, one of the tri-state's most popular (and durable) attractions. For nine decades, it's been one of the region's favorite summertime destinations, welcoming generations of swimmers.
But Burdette Park also knows how to scare the crap out of us, and I am here for it. In 2024, the park debuted "Fright Night," a terrifying walk through the park that ended with a showing of the original Friday the 13th from 1980.

The combination of a haunted attraction and an outdoor horror movie makes Fright Night one of the more unique Halloween events in the tri-state. Whether you're a longtime horror fan or just looking for a fun October night out, the event offers a little of both.
Fright Night 2: The Chambers
With this year's edition, visitors will walk through "The Chambers," a haunted house experience featuring eight different rooms, each with their own horrifying theme. After surviving the haunted attraction, guests can grab dinner or a snack from the food trucks. And make sure you grab some popcorn because then it's time for the movie. Fright Night 2: The Chambers concludes with a showing of the 1990 TV adaptation of Stephen King's It on a massive 40-foot screen. If, like me, you only ever watched the original on television, this is a pretty cool way to experience it.

Fright Night 2: The Chambers is a non-alcoholic event scheduled for Saturday, October 24. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 19.
