Boonville, IN Residents – Here’s How to Sign Up for Alerts from the City
I was on Facebook the other day and I noticed a post in the 'Boonville Indiana Community News' group that threw me for a loop. The user asked, "Just a quick question for Boonville residents. How many of you know what the Reach system is?"
Well, technically I am a Boonville resident though I live closer to Newburgh but I didn't know what it was. I looked at the comments and I'm not alone.
According to the website, "From weekly reminders to emergency alerts, keep your people in the loop about the topics that matter most. Deliver mass notifications via text message, voice call, and/or email with your entire organization, or just those with a need to know."
Ah, so it's a way for the City of Boonville to inform their residents of waterline breaks/boil water advisories, power outages, road closures/delays due to construction or accidents, hazmat situations, AMBER/Silver alerts, police actions, civic events or really any other event that would impact a large number of citizens.
Some people said they've been using it for a couple of years. Well, where have I been?
