How Do You Celebrate Thanksgiving?

Every October, I head to my annual check-up, and every October, I swear I'm going to eat healthier, drink more water, and lose the weight—knowing full well that the holidays are the worst time to make those promises! I went last Friday, and honestly, I didn’t even need the doctor to tell me—I could already feel it when I squeezed into my jeans. It's my own little holiday tradition!

My family also celebrates our own holiday traditions. We always enjoy a big meal, then collapsed on the couch in a food coma at my in-laws. In the past, my sister-in-law or I have tried to liven things up with some family games. I grew up in a non-competitive household, but my husband’s family? Oh, it’s a different story. Holy moly. There have been accusations of cheating, trash talk, and some serious competition over those friendly minute-to-win-it games!
