Free Thanksgiving Meal in Boonville

A few years ago, my husband and I decided to spend our Thanksgiving morning volunteering at the annual free Thanksgiving meal in Boonville. Since we weren’t hosting that year and had some free time in the morning, we figured it would be a great way to give back as a family. So, we loaded up our daughter and went to help out. I was in charge of meal prep, loading up takeout boxes with turkey and mashed potatoes, while my husband handled deliveries. We all had a fantastic time!

The 25th Annual Free Thanksgiving Meal in Boonville: Community Giving at Its Best

This year marks the 25th annual free Thanksgiving meal in Boonville—such an amazing tradition that brings the community together. Churches, businesses, non-profits, the fire dept and individuals come together to make this happen. Last year, they served 477 meals to Warrick Co. families. The team has been hard at work all fall but they've hit a snag. They could really use more food donations.

How You Can Help with Donations for the Thanksgiving Meal in Boonville

My friend Beth Brown mentioned that they're a bit behind on donations this year. They're currently collecting canned green beans, canned corn, instant mashed potatoes, and stovetop stuffing.

If you’d like to pitch in, you can drop off canned or boxed items at Save-U-More Market or Boonville Walmart until Friday, November 22. Just look for the sign and donation tub near the entrance/exit.
