This is Illinois New Best Steakhouse and It’s Really Bizarre
If I told you that something was bizarre and that's a good thing, you might look at me funny. That is true, however, of the new best steakhouse in Illinois which really is bizarre although the key is in the spelling.
This new ranking of steakhouses across America comes from 24/7 Tempo on MSN. Their choice for Illinois is bizarre, but it's spelled differently and it's next to the Chicago River in this building.
This is Bazaar Meat which is a creation of a famous chef named José Andrés. They have things on the menu there that I can't even pronounce, but the reputation of this chef and his restaurants are the stuff of legend.
The official Bazaar Meat website for the Chicago location says they have "sparkling crimson chandeliers designed to mimic the flames of a volcano". You know you're eating exotic when you're eating under chandeliers that mimic volcanoes.
How did Bazaar Meat rise to the top of the Illinois steakhouse food chain? The article says that the key is meat from 8 to 10 year old Holsteins. I'm no cow expert, so I'll take their word for it.
My food tendencies are more common than expensive and exotic, but if you want Illinois best steak, it looks like the Windy City and the river that runs through it need to be your destination.
