Buckle up, this is about to be one wild and unbelievable, yet true, ride about something that recently happened at a funeral parlor in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Woman Arrested for Breaking Into Funeral Home, Stealing Casket With Body Inside

Patricia Sierra, 47, faces charges including grand larceny, burglary of a business and removing, transforming or disturbing human remains.

Apparently Sierra thought that it wasn't all that bad of an idea to break into a funeral parlor after hours and not only steal a casket, but an occupied one.

The reason that this was brought to light traces back to a 911 call received on Aug. 27 around 3AM. The caller stated that there was a person laying face down in front of Affordable Cremation and Burial Service funeral home.

Upon arrival, Las Vegas Police Officers noticed a door to the business was open and a broken window. They entered the funeral home’s viewing room, noting there were "flower petals on the floor leading out the door." Aside from the broken window, nothing else in the building was damaged.

Police reviewed security footage and found the woman, later identified as Sierra, breaking a window to the funeral parlor and entering through the front door. She then picked up the casket, dead body and all, and walked out the door with it.

Then the body was dumped in the middle of the road, thus leading to the 911 call.

According to reports, the casket was found on a cart on the sidewalk outside of the funeral home.

Police said the deceased person had arrived at the facility on Aug. 20 and had a viewing the day before the burglary.

A representative for Affordable Cremation and Burial Service said, "There is an ongoing investigation, so we cannot comment, other than to say an individual was arrested after attempting to burglarize our location."

According to USA Today, once she was found at a local 7-Eleven and arrested, she explained to the officer that she was not trying to be malicious and that if she was drunk that day then she did not mean to steal the casket.
