Carly Pearce and Michael Ray have been loving newlywed life since they got married in early October, but apparently, they actually haven't gotten to see each other very much.

"Well, I think I see him less now than I did when we weren't married!" Pearce told The Boot and other outlets with a laugh, on the carpet before the 2019 ASCAP Country Music Awards in mid-November. The pair have been busy wrapping up their 2019 touring schedules; furthermore, Pearce has new music to promote, recently releasing a new duet with Lee Brice, "I Hope You're Happy Now," which is the first single off of her forthcoming self-titled sophomore album.

Pearce knew before her wedding that she wasn't going to have much time to savor the moment. Just two days after the ceremony, both she and Ray left town again for more concerts. That's why they decided to wait to take their honeymoon until the end of the year, when the country charts shut down and the 2019 touring season comes to a close.

"It's funny, we get married, and then two nights later, we're gone again, separately," Pearce shared before her wedding date. "We chose to wait on a honeymoon so that we could totally unplug and check out and not have the lingering, looming rest of the year over our heads. [In December] the charts are gonna close, everyone's gonna go home for the holidays, and we're gonna go home to a beach."

In November, as temperatures got chillier, Pearce said that beach vacation was becoming even more enticing. "At the end of the year we're going, so it's kind of the final pull. [We're going to] Jamaica. Lots of drinks! The drinks will be a-flowin'," she joked. Still, the singer adds, she and her brand-new husband are taking every second that they are together to savor married life.

"I mean, it's great. I married my best friend, and it's just awesome. A great time for me," Pearce reflects.
