Dear food bloggers, we need to talk.

First off, I know when you hear or see the phrase, "we need to talk," your defense mechanism kicks it, so let me say I'm not here to break up with you, but you've developed a habit that has slowly been eating away at me for a while and I feel like I need to say something before it gets to the point where I lose my mind.

First off, I want to thank you for sharing your recipe in the first place. My family and I are always looking for new things to try, or new twists on old favorites, and I'm not very good at opening up the fridge or pantry and throwing a bunch of stuff together. Should I add a Tablespoon of this, but only a teaspoon of that? I have no idea. That's why I seek out your guidance.

Where I run into an issue is how long it takes to get to the recipe in your post I want to recreate. Sorry, not sorry, but I don't care about the backstory of how you were looking for something quick, easy, and delicious that you can throw together on a Wednesday night once everyone is home. I don't care that you're kids are picky eaters, or that your significant other works 12-hour days as an electrician at a cattle farm who's always been a "meat and potatoes" kind of person until you whipped up this concoction and blew their minds. I don't care about how this dish reminds you of those family suppers growing up. I. Just. Don't. Care.

It's not you, it's me. But, maybe we could come to some sort of compromise that will make us both happy. What would you think about putting your recipe at the top of the post, then you can write all the backstory you want underneath for people who aren't like me and actually care? What do you say we try it and see what happens?

Thanks and keep cranking out those delicious meals!

Sincerely, Ryan O'Bryan
