Old Dominion Are the 2018 CMA Awards Vocal Group of the Year
Kudos to Old Dominion! They've been crowned the 2018 CMA Awards Vocal Group of the Year. Other nominees included Lady Antebellum, Lanco, Little Big Town and Midland.
This is the group's first win at the CMA Awards. Kane Brown and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo presented the award, noting country's growing inclusivity. Old Dominion treated the crowd to a performance of "Hotel Key" just before they came up to accept the award, saying "This is beautiful, first of all. There's so much that it takes, so many people know, to get here, and we have so many reasons to be grateful."
The five-piece group looked dapper. Before leaving the stage, they expressed gratitude to fans, saying, "Thank you so much for the chance to make music. We'll try and live up to this."
Old Dominion are wrapping up a successful -- and busy! -- year on the road: Their lengthy Happy Endings 2018 World Tour concludes in December. They made a stop back in Nashville in September, for a memorable, star-studded evening at the Ryman, which featured appearances from Sam Hunt, Kelsea Ballerini, their own longtime tour boss Kenny Chesney and more country stars. The group is also in the studio readying their third full-length album; they released their latest single, "Make It Sweet," in October.
