Zac Brown Band welcomed football fans to Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday night (Jan. 31) -- with a little unexpected help from rock star Dave Grohl. The band's pre-Super Bowl concert concluded with a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman," with Grohl on vocals.

Readers can press play above to watch ZBB and Grohl's performance. Zac Brown Band have been performing "Enter Sandman" -- a Top 10 hit for Metallica in 1991 -- during their live shows for years, but generally with the group's John Driskell Hopkins on vocals. Their version with Grohl at the helm, however, kept Jimmy De Martini's incredible fiddle solo intact.

Grohl's relationship with the Zac Brown Band goes back to their 2013 EP, The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1, which is a four-track project produced by Grohl. The Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana member also linked up with Brown for his band's 2014 album Sonic Highways. Grohl and company traveled to eight different cities to write and record songs for that project; the song "Congregation" was written in Nashville, recorded at Southern Ground Studios and features Brown.

According to Setlist.fm, Zac Brown Band's Thursday night show at the Tabernacle -- known as the Bud Light Dive Bar for Super Bowl Weekend -- in Atlanta also included covers of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," the Allman Brothers Band's "Whipping Post," Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," in addition to a number of the band's own hits. The show was part of the Pandora Live concert series.

Grohl and the Foo Fighters, too, are getting in on the pre-Super Bowl festivities with a concert of their own on Saturday (Feb. 2). The DirecTV Super Saturday show will also feature hip-hop duo Run the Jewels.
