Have you ever taken stock of the junk you have in your house that you no longer use? Maybe you should, because according to a new study nine out of 10 of us could probably make as much as $1500 selling that junk. You may not consider yourself a hoarder, but all of us hang on to things for whatever reason long after we've stopped using them. I admit, I am one of those people who have a very difficult time throwing things away right down to the smallest pieces of paper including old receipts because hey, you never know when you might have to account for something, right?

I do not consider myself a hoarder, but I do have a lot of stuff that I never use anymore. Things like clothes, books and shoes. Just the other day, my wife and I found a huge box of VHS tapes. Most of us could score around $1500 selling that stuff, which does not necessarily represent the value of the items...just what you could sell it for.

According to the study, one in three of us has a collection of old VHS tapes and audio cassettes...that's right, I said CASSETTES - remember those? We keep them even though we know they are never coming back... someone WILL buy them from you, trust me.

Some people may read this and panic, thinking they are a hoarder, when in fact they are not at all. Bottom line, we all have a little hoarding in us and it's costing us money. Take a good look in your closets and basements, you could be sitting on a gold mine. If you're thinking nobody would buy any of that junk...you would be wrong. Some people will buy anything and you might have exactly what they want. There is a buyer for everything.
