Even though sports fans are focused on the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks, the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals were at the White House yesterday meeting with President and Mrs. Obama. Normally, a presidential congrats is not all that noteworthy, but for the hometown Cardinals, this World Series win was one of the most improbable in baseball history. In game six alone, the Cards were one strike away from elimination twice before David Freese hit one of the most dramatic homeruns in baseball history in the 11th inning.
