Who loves bananas?!?!?!

Bananas. To me, they are an amazing food! Easy to eat, they are full of different goodness to help our bodies, and there are other foods using bananas that are equally delicious. Banana bread, Yum!! If you travel to the twin cities of Fulton, KY and South Fulton,TN you'll find out that they love bananas. Enough to have something called the Banana Festival! YES!!! Bananas, EVERYWHERE!!!

In the 1880's when refrigerated train cars were starting to be produced, it made it possible for exotic fruit to be shipped. There was a major rail road between Fulton and South Fulton, over time it became a party when the banana train came in. (http://www.thebananafestival.com/history.html)

So, naturally after I heard of it, I wanted to go. Yeah, it was a bit of a drive, but worth it!!! The weeks events included pageants, there was a Banana Brawl(wrestling), children chasing greased pigs, dog show, and Banana Bake-Off.Look at their ribbons..... THEY HAVE BANANAS ON THEM!!!!!!

When I got there is was your normal typical sights. Food venders, the smells of deep fried goodness, and a car show. Hints of bananas were around. I then found myself at the Banana Hut. Banana everything! Chap stick, stress bananas, banana necklaces, banana bracelets. While there I got to meet the little Lego Banana Man that graced his figure on their facebook page. (Ignore the bangs, they do their own thing)
