Have you ever considered the life of a fish?  Prior to this article, I had not.  It is far more than I had imagined.  Bass use their sense of smell and hearing to maneuver through the murky waters they inhabit. They are extremely curious and use their mouths to identify things the way we use our hands.  Sound carries five times better in water than in the air and has a great affect on the fish.

Loud banging sounds actually drive the Bass away.  They are attracted to the sound made by baited hooks hitting the water and the pulling noise of the crank baits, jigs and glass beads commonly used on lures.  The sound of the bait draws them in, but its sight and  smell that gets them to bite.

Fishing is a huge hobby that appeals to every age, male and female.  It seems one can use the science of the fish to plan an attack or just bait your hook and settle in to see what luck may bring, either way you are in for a peaceful relaxing time on the water or on the bank.  You may catch a fish or you may have a story to tell about that famous, "one that got away."
