Since the death of Whitney Houston, many online memorials have been have been set up through Facebook.  Even her former Facebook page, seen to the left has been kept open for fans to post their condolences.  Houston is not the only one with a Facebook memorial, as a matter of fact, I'm friends on Facebook with  more than one person who is no longer with us.

I really don't know what to think about it, but it rally came to mind this morning, when I looked to the right side of my news feed to see a birthday of a former classmate, who has passed away.  Out of curiosity, I went to his page to see what it looked like these days.  It was touching in a way to see so many people wishing him a happy birthday, and telling then they miss him.  While touching, it also hit me as strange.  Facebook seems to be a place where everyone shares the events of their lives.  Interesting that even in death we can share on Facebook.

I wrote the page off as creepy at first, until I saw the simple words from a father, obviously still greiving, "See you soon."  Maybe Facebook is a new way to be personal while remembering loved ones.  It's more than flowers on a stone.  The internet is forever after all, so what will you do, DEFRIEND someone who has died?  That doesn't seem right either.  I guess what I'm asking in all this rambling, is kind of summed up in the poll below.
