The new season of The Voice will air on September 19th and a former country music child star will be appearing on the show.

In 2000, an 11-year-old scored a Top 40 hit with "One Voice." Sixteen years later, his voice will be on NBC's The Voice. The artist I am referring to is Billy Gilman.

Following the success of his debut single, all other singles faltered, and despite two Grammy nominations, the peak of his career was short lived. Billy continued his singing career even after his voice changed. With little radio play since "One Voice," the last time we really heard from Billy was in 2014 when he posted an emotional video announcing that he was gay.

That was until a couple days ago when he made a huge announcement...

Billy auditioned for this season of The Voice. Of course, we won’t know if Gilman made it into the competition until his audition airs, but we certainly wish him the best of luck on the show! Tune into NBC on September 19th to see how far Billy Gilman makes it on The Voice!
