What Are the Worst Passwords Being Used This Year?
You would think that by now people would be utilizing stronger passwords to protect themselves from unsuspecting hackers. However, a recent study indicates that a lot of us are still as careless as ever and using the same weak, highly hackable passwords.
That’s the consensus according to SplashData, who earlier this week released their list of “The 25 Worst Passwords of the Year.” The list consists of millions of compromised passwords that have been revealed online by the hackers responsible for cracking them.
Interestingly, the top three on this year’s list (“password,” “123456” and “12345678”) remain unchanged, while several weak newbies like “Jesus,” “ninja” and “password1” have joined the ranks. Note: If you use any of the following passwords, you will want to change them. Like, now.
