According to their Facebook page, the Warrick Humane Society will be getting 15-20 dogs from Texas.  Some people were wondering if these dogs were peoples pets that could possibly have gotten displaced in the Hurricane, and no they are not. These are dogs that are from shelters in Texas.  As expect the shelters in Texas are overrun with pets that have been displaced from their families, so they're looking for shelters outside of Texas to take their shelter dogs and try to find them good homes, that they can have room for all the strays, and so they can keep pets for families until they can find housing.

It's amazing that Texas seems so far away, but right here in the tri-state we hear everyday about people from here helping out.

Warrick Humane will be needing volunteers, donations, and of course adopters! I did read a comment that asked how people could help and Warrick said they could use food, they feed their dogs Sportsmix Wholesome Chicken and Rice if you'd like to donate some food to help them out.

Check out their post below, and be sure to let them know if you can help out by volunteering, helping with special needs dogs, and of course if you have room to adopt!
