It was ladies day out for my mother-in-law, Mary, and me at the 19th Annual Christkindlmarkt in Ferdinand.  It was our very first time we had ever attended this event.  And,  it won't be the last!  The Christkindlmarkt continues Sunday, November 20th.

We spent hours and hours visiting all six market sites with beautiful hand crafted items, Christmas ornaments, antiques, wood carvers, folk art, jewelry, centerpieces, embroidered sweatshirts and towels, regional foods and wine and more.

Speaking of wine, I stopped by each of the six Indiana wineries that were present and sampled some of their best vintages - French Lick Winery, Winzerwald Winery, Mystique Winery, Pepper's Ridge Winery, Carousel Winery, and Monkey Hollow Winery.  You can buy a bottle or a case!

There's some awesome food there too, including Schnitzelbank Catering at the Tri-County YMCA, the Ferdinand K of C offered smoked pork tenderloin and Polish sausage, and  there are plenty of sweets at the Monastery Baked Goods booth with springerles, kuchens, and more located at the Monastery Event Center.
