Once again Historic Downtown Newburgh will get a bit spooky with the annual occurrence of the Historic Newburgh Ghost Walks.
The Historic Newburgh, Inc. Ghost Walks are entering their 20th year, and will run Friday, October 18th, 6:00pm-9pm; Saturday, October 19th, 5pm-9pm; and Sunday, October 20th, 5pm-8:00pm.
Participants on the Ghost Walks can choose between two different haunted tours:
On the Water Street tour, attendees will learn of river lore, family legends, mystery, and the sinking of the Steam ship Missouri! The State Street tour focuses on Newburgh history, Civil War tales, thrills, and thing that go bump in the night! Both tours offer their share of historical murder, mayhem, and mysteries.
The guided walking tours depart every 15 minutes from Preservation Hall (200 State Street) and each tour lasts about an hour. Comfortable shoes are recommended for those participating.
On Saturday night, the Rivertown Storytellers will be telling scary stories. These are really scary stories and not recommended for under 11 years old. They will be in Town Council Chambers at the end of the Saturday tour. They charge $2.00 for you to come listen to 15 minutes of skin crawling tales.
Advance tickets go on sale September 1st. Advance tickets are $8/adults and $4/children ages 4-12.
After October 17thtickets will be $9/adults and $5/children ages 4-12.
