Traffic will be restricted to one lane in both directions on St. Joe Avenue between Diamond and Allens Lane as crews begin work to patch holes and repave the stretch of road on Evansville's west side which serves as home for Rural King, Midas Car Care, and other local businesses.

The Vanderburgh County Highway Department will have signs and flagmen on site to direct traffic and keep motorists moving as smoothly as possible during the work, although they caution that delays could still take place.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be wrapped up by September 13th. In the meantime, we suggest using an alternate route such as Kratzville Road to the east or Mesker Park Drive to the west to avoid the construction altogether and gain access to Diamond Avenue, or anything north of Allens Lane.
