The Worst Valentine’s Day Gifts
Some people, especially guys, feel a lot of pressure on Valentine’s Day to make sure they get the right gift. There are a lot of gifts out there that on the surface sound like a great idea, but in reality, not so much. If you spend any time at all telling her how much you appreciate her quirky sense of humor and you get her a gift that is the furthest thing from quirky, you have a problem. The folks at Yahoo posted a list list of the ten worst gifts you can give your Valentine and some are kind of surprising.
Giving her a box of assorted chocolates is a very bad idea. Oh sure, women love chocolate, but have you ever watched women eat candy from an assortment box? They pick and choose like crazy and ultimately, they wind up with three or four pieces they actually liked and the rest go in the trash. Not to mention all of the ribbon used to wrap a cardboard, heart-shaped, red metallic looking box.
One of the biggest mistakes guys make is giving jewelery that comes in a ring-sized box. If it’s in a ring-sized box and there is no ring, guess what…..she will be very disappointed, especially if you are at that point in your relationship, or she will lose her mind because she feels like she is not ready for that yet. That is a no win situation for you.
How about a stuffed animal with a love message? Really….let’s not even go there.
A gift certificate, according to the list is also a bad idea. Gift cards are seen as impersonal and disappointing because there is no actual gift!! This is not good news for me because guess what I got my wife this year? You guessed it…..a gift card to her favorite store and after reading the list I feel like a complete Tool!!!
