The scariest (or worst) part of returning home from vacation is…..

  1. Stepping on the bathroom scale
  2. Doing loads of laundry
  3. Checking to make sure the water pipes didn’t break in the house

If you said 1, 2, & 3, you are correct!  I'm sure many of you can identify with these after a week long vacation. Thank goodness #3 didn’t happen (you never know!),  #2 – I’m STILL working on, and #1 – Stepping on the bathroom scale is something I never ever look forward to, but when I looked down to see the number – Holy ##*! (Don’t hate me) I didn’t gain a pound, but, my husband did.  Not too much, though.  I can’t even tell!

During my vacation last week, of course, I over indulged and never got into a gym. But, I did walk a lot, especially during visits to Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and the Flight 93 Museum in Southwestern, PA.

So after returning home, I headed to the gym - not because of weight issues, necessarily. But, because I want to stay toned and keep my weight down. I use hand held weights, the weight machines, cardio machines, and love taking Zumba classes.  Ever since I can remember (my teens) I have always tried staying active. For me, it’s my shot of energy for the day! I’m a member at Elite Fitness located on Hwy 261 in the Newburgh Plaza. I love it there!  Teri and Todd Geiss are the owners that I’ve known for many years and they take good care of their members. I’m pretty sure they don’t make you step on the bathroom scale.  Hehehe!
