The Cubs won the World Series last night after 108 years. There have been a lot of players to wear the uniform, but the greatest Cub of all time never got the chance to play in The World Series.

Henry Rowengartner was the greatest pitcher that the Cubs have ever seen. With mentors like Chet Steadman and Phil Brickman, Henry had the whole world watching him at only 12 years-old. That's right, this 12 year-old played major league baseball!

After a serious arm injury, Henry miraculously gained the ability to throw better than anyone in major league baseball. While he had so much talent, it was only enough to take he and the Cubs to the National League championship series after somehow losing his throwing ability.

Rowengartner was an inspiration to all who watched him. He gave the Cubs the fire and passion to go after the World Series. His story was actually documented in the 1993 film, Rookie of the Year. If you are a fan of feel good stories, I highly recommend that you check out this 1993 classic.

Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs on your well deserved World Series win. I only wish that Henry were able to take the mound for at least one pitch....but I know that he was there in spirit.
