In 1995, Canadian native Terri Clark released her self-titled debut album; her first single, "Better Things to Do," reached the Top 3 in both the U.S. and Canada. As Clark recalls to The Boot, she got got very emotional -- and slightly destructive -- when she heard her debut single on the radio for the first time all those years ago.

I was in New Mexico, in a hotel room, when I heard it. I started bouncing on the bed and hit my head on the ceiling!

The song was "Better Things to Do," in 1995. I spent my whole life waiting for that moment.

I was about 26 at the time. I moved to Nashville in 1987, so it was a good eight years after I moved there that I first heard myself on the radio. It's still exciting!
